Permit Alley Anglers Client Checklist
This checklist is provided to help us make your visit as enjoyable as possible. Please take
a few minutes to read it and e-mail back our requested information.
- Necessary items: Long billed hats with dark underbill, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, insect
repellent, rain gear, light weight long sleeve shirts, light weight long pants (zip-offs are great),
wading booties. The wading surface is coral and is very sharp, diving booties will not suffice.
- Normal fishing days are 8:00 am till 4:00 pm.
- Half days are 8:00 am till 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm till 5 pm.
- Other schedules are readily available.
- General use is 7 or 8 wt rods for bonefish, 9 wt for permit and 10 wt and larger for
tarpon. Most use floating lines with 9ft leaders for everything on the flats. Use sinking lines
and sinking tips for tarpon.
- Flies and lures to bring:
Bonefish: Turneffe Crabs, Merkin, Deceivers, Clousers size 6 tan,green brown.
Permit: Turneffe Crabs, Merkin, Clousers size 6 tan, green, brown.
Tarpon: Turnefee Crabs, Merkin, Tarpon Bunny, Tarpon Toad, size 1-4
Snook: Poppers, frog imitators, streamers.
Barracuda: Tube lures, spoons
A variety of patterns are recommended.
